Tell us a bit about your background

I grew up in a small village near Leiria with Nature always present in my daily life. My parents are artisans, my mother is a seamstress, and my father is a yoga teacher and carpenter, which sparked my interest in the art of working with my hands.

I loved to draw, it helped me express what was inside me because I was a very shy girl. Throughout my life, I disconnected from the arts because I believed and often heard that artists weren't successful.

In 2016, after completing a degree in Fashion Design in Covilhã, I started digital drawing again, and my passion grew once more.

In 2020, I launched my first collection of screen-printed and embroidered T-shirts, and now I work with vintage pieces, handcrafted jewelry, and much more.

Art is in everything you do; tell us about your work :)

I love to explore my creativity on different platforms. I enjoy painting on large canvases, embroidering antique pieces, and creating jewelry with unique details. Photography also fascinates me, allowing me to explore my creativity and share more of my work.

Why do you paint faces?

Faces have always intrigued me since I was a child, especially the eyes. Some say they are the mirrors of our soul - I agree. I started painting them because it's the most direct way to tell a story. I begin with the eyes, and the entire drawing is influenced by the character's inner soul.

Where do you find inspiration?

In silence, in Nature, in the faces of each person I encounter, and in the small things life conveys. I feel that spirituality also plays a significant role in my work. When I was young, I saw things I still can't explain today, which has led me to seek answers to why we are here.

How does your day start?

It usually starts in a simple way. As I wake up, I sometimes grab a book to read a few words until my mind awakens. Other times, I begin with words of gratitude and manifestation. The first thing I do when I get up is wash my face with cold water, a habit I've loved for many years. Some mornings, I fast until lunch, which helps me feel more present. If not, I have a bowl of fruit and drink tea, which I love.

Do you have a ritual you can't do without?

Lately, I've been taking more care of my skin, hygiene, and body. I love taking time for myself to feel good, to pamper myself, with facial massages and yoga.

Is your home your safe space?

Without a doubt, it's super important for me to have a place where I can express myself and find silence. Since I sometimes have a tendency to please others, I always need to recharge my batteries and reconnect with myself.

What is your relationship with your skin like, and has it always been this way?

Now, my relationship with my skin is great. I feel that I take more care to nourish and maintain the health of my skin. In my teenage years, I had many issues with pimples, oiliness, and irritations. It was a challenging phase in my life, but I can see that I'm more in control and passionate about it today.

What do you do to stay stimulated and work on personal growth? We know that change and self-discovery are important to you :)

I watch films that inspire me, especially those by director Eric Rohmer. I go to exhibitions, seek out art and inspiration on Pinterest that leaves me wanting to discover and create more.

What do you like most about Miaskin?

Without a doubt, the scent. You can tell that these are natural products by their creaminess and incredible nature-inspired scent. I love how they make me feel every time I use them. The packaging is also beautiful, highly inspiring, and practical.

Thanks :)
