Could you share with us a bit about you and your background?
I’m a 25 years old girl who was born in Lisbon but moved to Porto in a very young age so I already call it my home. Since I can remember that I’ve been fascinated with the artsy world so that’s what I studied and when I was a teenager I’ve became really into fashion and that’s what I’ve been focusing on since then, through my blog, Instagram and my job as a content writer.
What is your biggest inspiration?
I think life in general is my biggest inspiration. The city I live in, my friends, the strangers I see walking in the streets, the buildings, art, music, so many things.
“(…)what you see is what you get: beauty products with natural ingredients that your skin will love”
Why start a blog?
I wanted to share my ideas with the world. I wanted to share my passion for fashion, I wanted to share my personal style, I wanted to share the books that I love, the coffee places, etc. Basically, I wanted a creative outlet to share all these things that I love so much.
And suddenly books… Tell us about Contracapa
There was a point in my life that I knew I wanted to create something related to books but I just didn’t know what. Quarantine gave me the time to think about it and I came across some independent writers that sold their books through their social media because they didn’t have a platform to do it. That’s why I decided to create Contracapa, so these writers could have a place where they could showcase their work and sell their books.
How does reading improve your daily life?
I actually wrote a blog post about it a while ago because it really changed my life. I spend so much time in front of a screen because of my work that I almost feel like reading keeps me sane. I can really shut off and be immersed in a completely different world.
What does self-care and well-being mean to you?
Self-care means taking care of my body and my mind. To eat healthy but also eat pizza once in a while because it’s something I love. To drink a lot of water but also drink a glass of wine because it’s damn good. It’s all about balance to me.
Beauty, how would you define it?
Beauty can be so relative and it can be so many different things but to me is feeling good in your skin and owning your imperfections. Marilyn Monroe once said that “imperfection is beauty” and I truly believe in that.
What do you like most about miaskin products?
I love how simple and effective they are. There’s no fuss, there’s no sketchy ingredients that you have no idea what they are, what you see is what you get: beauty products with natural ingredients that your skin will love, at least mine does. I also love that is a cruelty-free brand, that’s something I really appreciate and always look for in a brand.
Do you have a routine that helps you keep your balance?
My days are always a bit different but there are little routines that I always make sure to keep up with. I love to wake up early and read for about a hour before I start my day. I also always make sure I have the time to do my skincare routine properly and get ready for the day.
